Bad idea...

Ella has done this occasionally when eating, but unfortunately tonight I laughed and daddy played along with her.  No one can make this girl laugh like her daddy can...

Summer fun...

Happy summer!  We are having a great time, keeping busy with a variety of activities including Strollerobics, library story time, and swimming (only in our backyard pool so far...).  Ella is a girl on the move and is constantly coming up with new things for us to baby-proof.  She is cruising the furniture, opening cupboards, and her favorite objects include cords, doorstops, vent covers.  She loves to see herself both in the mirror and in pictures, and points to a picture of herself about twenty times a day.  She grins from ear to ear when we say, "there's Ella!"  I swear that she has said "Ella" and I have witnesses!  Here are a variety of pictures from the last week...

What a difference a week makes!

We are in for it...Ella has become increasingly mobile in the course of a week.  She is brave and curious, crawling in her own unique way on one knee and one foot.  She has discovered how to cruise the furniture and already believes that she can stand without holding onto anything.

Ella also has a new sound--very un-ladylike!

 

Happy 9 month birthday, baby girl!  We can't believe how fast the time is going...

Our first post

We had trouble coming up with a name for the blog, and this just came about as we often sing "They call her Ella Bella" to the tune of Mello Yellow.  Ella Bella is just one of Ella's many nicknames that also include Ella Full of Grace and Portabella Ella.  

 I thought that a blog might be a good way to keep family and friends updated without constantly inundating everyone's emails with Shutterfly invites, etc.

The last two weeks have brought many new tricks, most of which have interrupted our finally decent sleeping patterns.  Ella can now sit up on her own and pull herself up in the crib, as well as clap and point.  She is quite the character.  We are loving spending these summer days together.
