Ella's first rock show

Ella got to go to her first rock show last weekend.  Her Uncle Nate is in the band, The Honorary Title and they played in Lawrence Sunday night.  The band didn't come on until about 10:30, but Ella did great and made it through the first two songs before going back to the hotel for bedtime.  She was excited to see Nate onstage and pointed and waved to him!

Ella's first pizza (a white pizza from Rudy's).  She loved it, and many other new foods that she tried this weekend, including mashed potatoes, edamame, tofu, and risotto.  She has quite the diverse palate and two of her current favorite foods are Israeli couscous and cooked red bell peppers.
Ella giving her baby a ride.  She is getting quite brave!

Grammy started Ella walking this way this weekend, and by Tuesday Ella did not want to ride in the cart or be carried--she wanted to walk!

Here she goes!

Ella has been cruising the furniture for awhile now.  We bought her this push toy yesterday and after a few tries, she has figured out how to go with it!  Now it's all she wants to do...

Penguin costume

We have spent the week cleaning out Ella's closet.  The girl has way too many clothes, and I am still not sure where we are going to store them all. Her daddy thought it would be funny to try on the Penguin costume that her great aunt Ree sent her for her first halloween (size 3 months).  We laughed and laughed!  Ella thought it was funny for only a few moments before getting quite upset with us!  I SO want to see what she would now look like in the outfit that we brought her home from the hospital in, it's unreal to think how small she was.  We may have to wait until she forgets this experience before trying again...

Ella cried and carried on in the nursery throughout church on Sunday and all the way home, but did wear out by lunch time.

Ella's yet undecided as to who to vote for...

10 months old

Ugh.  I have 1) waited too long to update and 2) not done a very good job of taking pictures of all that we have been doing.  Ella Grace is now 10 months old.  It is crazy that time has gone so fast.  She continues to be on the move, and is starting to stand for a few seconds without holding onto anything.  She has many new sounds and has said "dada" a couple of times intentionally.  She has been the chatty one at Strollerobics and talks non-stop to herself and the other babies throughout the class!  Ella loves to be outside and likes riding in her car, swinging, and checking out the animals when we are at Grammy and Grampy's.  Her favorite toy right now is her Cabbage Patch Kid from Grandma and Grandpa Parker.  She loves that baby!  (Ella's a little rough and generally shows her love by giving the doll a big kiss and then grabbing her hair and throwing her to the floor.)  Meal times have gotten interesting, as Ella now only wants to feed herself.  She shakes her head and waves her hands in front of her face when we try to feed her pureed foods with a spoon.  She loves peas, grilled cheese sandwiches and watermelon! She is quite the girl...

Ella loves to play the piano!  Grammy and Uncle Nate have gotten her off to an early start!

I did horrible with 4th of July pictures, and unfortunately have none that particularly capture a 4th of July memory.  This is her cleaning out her grammy's cupboards on the night of the 4th.

We finally made it to the pool!

Kansas City here we come

Ella and I had a great weekend in Kansas City with the KU girls, Amanda, Amy, and Nickie.   It was the first time for her to meet Amy and Nickie, as well as Amy's little guy Nicholas who is 3 weeks younger than her.  The babies did great, sleeping well and cooperating for the most part.  It was a wonderful time!  We also got to spend some time with Uncle Nate on both ends of the trip, as well as for lunch on Saturday. Grammy Cindy and Virginia also met us for lunch, and it was nice to catch up with everyone.  We are blessed to have such good friends!
